An Ideal Alumni Event

For the final event of the year, the Ernest E. Just Biomedical Society, with support from the IDEAL committee, hosted a  Career Panel with 9 diverse Penn alumni on Friday June, 23rd. including:

Steven Tuyishime, PhD University of Pennsylvania, CAMB – Gene Therapy and Vaccines

Arnaldo Diaz, PhD Texas A&M University – Biochemistry

Heather L. Bennett, PhD Brown University

Luis Cocka, PhD University of Pennsylvania, CAMB – Microbiology, Virology and Parasitology

Shilpa Iyer, PhD University of Pennsylvania, CAMB – Microbiology, Virology and Parasitology 

Nyamekye Obeng-Adjei, PhD University of Pennsylvania – Pharmacology/GTV

These folks hailed from all stages of their careers and were pursuing their passions in industry, consulting, science communication, government, academia and public health. Following the afternoon panel,  alumni and attendees enjoyed an evening reception held at tStratus Rooftop Lounge in downtown Philadelphia. 

This was a great opportunity to bring successful scientists back to Penn to inspire and advise the next generation of biomedical trainees.
